House Natural Resources Republicans have questioned the reliability of offshore wind energy off the nation’s coasts, claiming it is only 40 to 50 percent of the time that the government can rely on offshore wind energy. The Energy and Mineral Resources Subcommittee meeting also addressed concerns about the Biden administration’s push for offshore wind power and industry’s environmental impacts. The Republicans also criticized the White House for not understanding the importance of fossil fuel development offshore.
