White House Threatens Veto on House Spending Bills Targeting Climate and Clean Energy Programs Amid Proposed Cuts.

The White House has threatened to veto four House spending bills, including those for EPA, the departments of Energy, the Interior and Agriculture. The bills propose steep cuts to federal climate and clean energy programs. The Office of Management and Budget stated that President Joe Biden would veto these bills. The Rules Committee is meeting to consider amendments proposed for each bill, many of which seek further cuts. House leaders have removed the Agriculture and Financial Services titles due to concerns that they wouldn’t pass in the narrowly divided chamber.
