Texas Republican Rep. August Pfluger (R-Texas) has introduced legislation to overturn the Fish and Wildlife Service’s listing of the dunes sagebrush lizard as endangered, claiming it poses an “incredible threat to energy production” in the Permian Basin. The Congressional Review Act (CRA) would overturn the lizard’s Endangered Species Act listing, a measure that would nullify the listing. Pflugeer’s measure, called a joint resolution, is likely to support energy-minded House members and has received endorsement from industry leaders.
