Study: Biden’s EV charging funds favor large Democratic cities over rural Republican areas due to technical barriers.

A study by data firm CivicPulse has found that hundreds of millions of dollars that the Biden administration allocated to local electric vehicle charging projects have mostly gone to large cities that tend to vote Democratic, not rural and Republican areas. The study does not attribute the skewed spending from the 2021 bipartisan infrastructure law to bias by government officials. Instead, it concludes that local governments in conservative rural areas lack extensive experience and exposure to EV charging. The lead author of the study, Nathan Lee, said that technical barriers were not political opposition but technical.
