Stellantis to Boost Hydrogen Vehicle Production, Aiming for 100,000 Units Annually Amid Growing Market Demand.

European-American car manufacturer Stellantis plans to significantly expand its production capacity for commercial vehicles with hydrogen fuel cells to create 100,000 hydrogen vehicles per year. The company expects that 40 percent of all commercial vehicles will soon use this technology, despite low sales figures. The head of the group’s hydrogen program, Jean-Michel Billig, stated that the company expects a significant market share for this technology to be up to 40 percent for commercial cars in the next decade. The group sees batteries and fuel cells as technologies that complement each other. The new variant of the RAM 5500 pick-up truck will be manufactured in Mexico.
