The Senate has approved a resolution to repeal the Biden administration’s energy efficiency standards for residential gas furnaces. The resolution was approved by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Energy and Natural Resources Chair Joe Manchin, and Sens. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio), Bob Casey (DPa.) and Kyrsten Sinema (I-Ariz) voted with 46 Republicans. This is the latest in a series of Congressional Review Act measures targeting the administration’s energy efficiency rules for home appliances. The White House announced that President Joe Biden would veto the resolution.
