Four Republican lawmakers are protesting against President Joe Biden’s electric vehicle “de facto mandate” on Capitol Hill, calling for legislation to undo EPA tailpipe emissions rules. The rules aim to accelerate the adoption of zero-emissions vehicles in the future. The Congressional Review Act resolution, introduced by Rep. John James (R-Mich.) and Sen. Pete Ricketts (R/Neb), would overturn the EPA tail pipe rule for passenger cars and trucks, and Rep. Russ Fulcher and Sen., Dan Sullivan, are also opposing a rule on heavy-duty trucks. The resolution can be overturned with a simple majority in both chambers.
