Wood County is a solar power facility located in Nekoosa, Wisconsin, operating under the jurisdiction of the Midwest Reliability Organization within the NERC region. The plant boasts an operating capacity of 150 megawatts, contributing significantly to the energy needs of the Midcontinent Independent System Operator’s power control area. The facility is regulated and is operated by Wisconsin Power and Light Company, which also holds the majority ownership. Alliant Energy Corporation serves as the owner holding company, ensuring a stable and sustainable energy source derived from solar fuel.
