Water Treatment 1 & 2 is a regulated power generation facility located in Groton, Connecticut, within the Northeast Power Coordinating Council (NERC) region. The plant operates with an internal combustion technology and has an operating capacity of 5 megawatts (MW). It is part of the ISO New England power control area, ensuring compliance with regional energy standards. The facility is owned and operated by the Connecticut Municipal Electric Energy Cooperative, which holds the majority ownership and is also the owner holding company. The plant utilizes oil as its primary fuel source, contributing to the region’s energy supply while adhering to regulatory requirements.
