Washington Airport Solar is a solar power facility located in Washington, North Carolina, within the SERC Reliability Corporation region. With an operating capacity of 5 MW, the plant harnesses solar energy to generate electricity. It is managed by Brookfield Renewable Partners, which is also the majority owner, under the umbrella of Brookfield Corporation. The facility operates in an unregulated environment and supplies power primarily to the North Carolina Eastern Municipal Power Agency, contributing to the region’s renewable energy landscape. The plant is part of the Duke Energy Progress power control area, utilizing the sun as its fuel source.
