Wading River is a gas turbine power plant located in Shoreham, New York, with an operating capacity of 296.5 MW. It falls under the jurisdiction of the Northeast Power Coordinating Council and operates within the New York Independent System Operator’s power control area. The plant is unregulated and is primarily owned and operated by National Grid Generation, a subsidiary of National Grid plc. It utilizes oil as its fuel source and primarily sells power to the Long Island Power Authority.
