Waddell is a pumped storage facility located in Morristown, Arizona, within the Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) region. The plant operates with a capacity of 40 megawatts and is part of the WAPA Lower Colorado Region’s power control area. The facility is managed by the Central Arizona Water Conservation District and operates under an unregulated status. The majority ownership is held by the Colorado River Indian Irrigation Project, which also serves as the owner holding company. Utilizing water as its primary fuel source, Waddell plays a crucial role in energy storage and management within the regional power grid.
