University Solar is a solar power facility located in West Greenwich, Rhode Island, operating under the jurisdiction of the Northeast Power Coordinating Council. With an operating capacity of 24 megawatts, the plant contributes to the energy supply within the ISO New England power control area. The facility is managed by AES Distributed Energy, which also serves as the majority owner, under the umbrella of The AES Corporation. As an unregulated entity, University Solar harnesses solar energy, utilizing the sun as its primary fuel source, to deliver sustainable power solutions.
