UMass Boston operates a power generation facility located in Dorchester, Massachusetts, within the Northeast Power Coordinating Council (NERC) region. The plant utilizes internal combustion technology and has an operating capacity of 6.9 megawatts (MW). It is integrated into the ISO New England power control area. The facility is managed by Enel X North America, which also serves as the majority owner, under the holding company Enel SpA. The plant operates on oil as its primary fuel source and currently holds an unregulated status.
