Tannery Island Power is a hydraulic turbine facility located in Carthage, New York, operating under the jurisdiction of the Northeast Power Coordinating Council. With an operating capacity of 1.5 megawatts, the plant contributes to the New York Independent System Operator’s power control area. The facility is managed by Ampersand Hydro, which also serves as the majority owner. Tannery Island Power operates in an unregulated environment, under the ownership of Ampersand Energy Partners, utilizing water as its primary fuel source.
