The Shakopee Met Council Water Treatment Plant (WTP) is a solar energy facility located in Shakopee, Minnesota, with an operating capacity of 1.3 MW. It is part of the Midwest Reliability Organization and operates within the Midcontinent Independent System Operator’s power control area. The plant is unregulated and is owned and operated by Oak Leaf Energy Partners Ohio, which holds the majority ownership. The facility harnesses solar energy, utilizing the sun as its primary fuel source, and supplies power primarily to the Metropolitan Council, serving the Minneapolis-Saint Paul metropolitan area.
