Sagebrush ESS is a state-of-the-art energy storage facility located in Mojave, California, operating under the jurisdiction of the Western Electricity Coordinating Council. With an operating capacity of 80 MW, this battery technology plant plays a crucial role in enhancing grid reliability and supporting renewable energy integration within the California Independent System Operator’s power control area. The facility is managed by Terra-Gen, which also holds the majority ownership stake. Sagebrush ESS operates in an unregulated environment, allowing for flexible operational strategies. The plant is owned by the ECP continuation fund, with Terra-Gen as the primary owner. Other owners of the power plant include Terra-Gen.
