Oyster Creek Unit VIII is a combined cycle power plant located in Freeport, Texas, within the Texas Reliability Entity (NERC Region). The facility boasts an operating capacity of 430 megawatts and is integrated into the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) power control area. The plant is operated by The Dow Chemical Company and is classified as unregulated, providing flexibility in its operational framework. The majority ownership of the plant is held by ENGIE North America, a subsidiary of Engie SA, which underscores the strategic investment in gas fuel technology. Additionally, Toyota Tsusho Corporation is recognized as another owner of the power plant.
