Orono B is a hydraulic turbine power plant located in Orono, Maine, within the Northeast Power Coordinating Council (NERC) region. With an operating capacity of 3.9 MW, the facility is managed by Black Bear Hydro Partners and operates under an unregulated status. The plant utilizes water as its primary fuel source and supplies power primarily to The Narragansett Electric Company. The majority ownership of Orono B is held by BIF II Gen Aggregator, which also serves as the owner holding company. The plant is part of the ISO New England power control area, contributing to the region’s renewable energy portfolio.
