Ormesa I is a geothermal power plant located in Winterhaven, California, within the Western Electricity Coordinating Council region. With an operating capacity of 26.4 MW, the facility is managed by Ormat Nevada and operates under an unregulated status. The plant primarily utilizes geothermal energy as its fuel source and serves the California Independent System Operator’s power control area. Ormat Nevada, the majority owner, is part of Ormat Technologies, and the primary power purchaser for the plant is the Southern California Public Power Authority.
