Onyx, located on Lamphear Road in Rome, NY, is a solar power plant operating under the Northeast Power Coordinating Council. With an operating capacity of 2 MW, it contributes to the New York Independent System Operator’s power control area. The plant is managed by EDF Power Solutions North America, which is also its majority owner, under the holding company Electricite de France SA. As an unregulated facility, Onyx harnesses solar energy to provide power primarily to the City of Rome.
