The North Brawley Geothermal Plant, located in Brawley, California, operates under the Western Electricity Coordinating Council region. With an operating capacity of 80 MW, this geothermal facility harnesses the Earth’s heat to generate renewable energy. Managed by Ormat Nevada, the plant is unregulated and primarily serves the Imperial Irrigation District’s power control area. Ormat Nevada holds majority ownership, under the umbrella of Ormat Technologies. The primary power purchaser for the plant is Southern California Edison Company, ensuring a steady demand for the clean energy produced.
