Newington is a combined cycle power plant located in Newington, New Hampshire, operating under the Northeast Power Coordinating Council (NERC) region. With an operating capacity of 634.7 MW, the plant is part of the ISO New England power control area. It is operated by NAEA Newington Energy and is unregulated, with Cogentrix Energy Power Management as the majority owner, under the holding company Quantum Energy Partners. The plant primarily utilizes gas as fuel and has a key partnership with Shell Energy North America (US) as its primary power purchaser. The facility is connected to the Maritimes & Northeast Pipeline for its gas supply.
