Nacoochee is a hydraulic turbine power generation facility located in Clarkesville, Georgia, within the SERC Reliability Corporation region. The plant operates with a capacity of 6 megawatts and is part of the Southern Company’s power control area. Georgia Power Company serves as both the plant operator and majority owner, with ownership held under The Southern Company. The facility is regulated and utilizes water as its primary fuel source, contributing to the region’s energy supply in a sustainable manner.
