Montrose Solar is a solar power facility located in Montrose, Minnesota, operating under the Midwest Reliability Organization. With an operating capacity of 3.5 MW, the plant utilizes solar technology to harness energy from the sun. It is managed by Aurora Distributed Solar, which is also the majority owner, under the holding company Enel SpA. The facility operates in an unregulated environment and is part of the Midcontinent Independent System Operator’s power control area. The primary power purchaser for Montrose Solar is Northern States Power Company, ensuring that the generated solar energy is effectively distributed to meet regional energy needs.
