The Montgomery County Correctional Facility, located in Boyds, Maryland, operates a solar power plant with an operating capacity of 1.4 MW. This facility is part of the ReliabilityFirst Corporation’s NERC Region and is integrated into the PJM Interconnection power control area. Tesla Energy Operations serves as both the plant operator and majority owner, with Tesla as the holding company. The facility is unregulated and primarily supplies power to the County of Montgomery, Maryland, utilizing solar energy as its fuel source.
