Milton R Young is a steam turbine power plant located in Center, North Dakota, within the Midwest Reliability Organization region. With an operating capacity of 692 MW, the plant is managed by Minnkota Power Cooperative and operates under the Midcontinent Independent System Operator’s power control area. The facility primarily utilizes coal as its fuel source and is unregulated in its operations. The majority ownership lies with Square Butte Electric Cooperative, which also serves as the owner holding company. The primary power purchaser for the plant is Minnesota Power Enterprises.
