Millers Ferry is a hydraulic turbine power generation facility located in Camden, Alabama, within the SERC Reliability Corporation region. The plant operates with a capacity of 90 megawatts and is part of the Southern Company’s power control area. The facility is managed by the US Army Corps of Engineers – Mobile District, which also serves as the majority owner and holding company. As an unregulated entity, Millers Ferry utilizes water as its primary fuel source, contributing to the region’s energy supply while adhering to operational standards set forth by regulatory bodies.
