Laurel Wind Farm, located in Laurel, Iowa, operates under the jurisdiction of the Midwest Reliability Organization. This facility utilizes advanced wind turbine technology to achieve an operating capacity of 119.6 megawatts. The power generated is managed within the Midcontinent Independent System Operator’s control area, ensuring efficient distribution and reliability. The plant is operated and predominantly owned by MidAmerican Energy Company, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, which also holds regulatory status as a regulated entity. Other owners of the Laurel Wind Farm include MidAmerican Energy Company.
