Laurel Dam, located in London, Kentucky, operates under the SERC Reliability Corporation and utilizes hydraulic turbine technology to generate an operating capacity of 61 MW. The facility is part of the PJM Interconnection power control area and is managed by the US Army Corps of Engineers (USCE) – Nashville District, which also holds majority ownership. As an unregulated plant, Laurel Dam primarily harnesses water as its fuel source, supplying power to the East Kentucky Power Cooperative.
