Managed by Lanai Sustainability Research, the plant is situated within the Hawaiian Electric Company’s power control area and operates under an unregulated status. The majority ownership lies with Lanai Sustainability Research, which is a subsidiary of Castle & Cooke. The primary power purchaser for the plant is Maui Electric Company, ensuring that the clean energy generated contributes to the local grid and supports the community’s energy needs.
