Kyger Creek is a coal-fired power plant located in Cheshire, Ohio, operating under the jurisdiction of the ReliabilityFirst Corporation within the PJM Interconnection power control area. The facility boasts a steam turbine technology with an operating capacity of 990.7 megawatts. It is regulated and managed by the Ohio Valley Electric Corporation, with the majority ownership held by the Ohio Power Company, a subsidiary of the American Electric Power Company. In addition to the primary owners, other stakeholders in the plant include Buckeye Power Generating, Appalachian Power Company, Duke Energy Ohio, Indiana Michigan Power Company, Peninsula Generation Cooperative, Louisville Gas and Electric Company, Energy Harbor Generation, The Dayton Power and Light Company, Allegheny Energy Supply Company, and Kentucky Utilities Company, as well as Southern Indiana Gas and Electric Company.
