The Kleen Energy Systems Project, located in Middletown, Connecticut, operates as a combined cycle power plant with an impressive capacity of 658 MW. Situated within the Northeast Power Coordinating Council’s jurisdiction, this unregulated facility is managed by Kleen Energy Systems and primarily utilizes natural gas as its fuel source. The plant is owned by Arclight Energy Partners Fund VII, under the holding company ACHP. It connects to the Algonquin Gas Transmission pipeline for its gas supply. The power generated is directed to the ISO New England power control area, although there is currently no primary power purchaser associated with the plant.
