Kay Wind is a wind turbine facility located in Newkirk, Oklahoma, within the Midwest Reliability Organization’s NERC region. With an operating capacity of 299 MW, the plant harnesses wind energy to generate electricity. It is managed by Apex Clean Energy and operates in the Southwest Power Pool’s power control area. The facility is unregulated and is primarily owned by Southern Renewable Energy, a subsidiary of The Southern Company. Evergy Kansas Central is the primary purchaser of the power generated at this renewable energy site.
