The Kaiser Deer Valley Rd. Fuel Cell facility, located in Antioch, California, operates within the Western Electricity Coordinating Council (NERC Region). This state-of-the-art plant utilizes fuel cell technology with an operating capacity of 1.4 megawatts. It is integrated into the California Independent System Operator’s power control area, ensuring efficient management of electricity supply and demand. The facility is operated by the 2016 Esa Project Company, which also holds majority ownership. The Southern Company serves as the owner holding company. As an unregulated entity, the plant leverages gas as its primary fuel source, contributing to the region’s energy portfolio with a focus on clean and reliable power generation.
