The plant utilizes internal combustion technology and has an operating capacity of 7.4 megawatts. It is managed by the Kahoka City of, which also serves as the majority owner and holding company. The facility primarily utilizes oil as its fuel source and is part of the power control area governed by the Associated Electric Cooperative.
