Jones Bluff is a hydraulic turbine facility located in Selma, Alabama, within the SERC Reliability Corporation region. The plant operates with a capacity of 82 megawatts and is part of the Southern Company’s power control area. The facility is managed by the USCE – Mobile District, which also serves as the majority owner and holding company. As an unregulated entity, Jones Bluff utilizes water as its primary fuel source, contributing to the region’s energy supply while adhering to operational standards set forth by regulatory bodies.
