John Day is a hydraulic turbine facility located in Wasco, Oregon, within the Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) region. The plant boasts an impressive operating capacity of 1,917 megawatts and is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USCE) – North Pacific Division. It operates under the jurisdiction of the Bonneville Power Administration, serving as a key player in the local power control area.
