Jaybird is a hydraulic turbine power generation facility located in Pollock Pines, California, within the Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) region. The plant operates with a capacity of 156.2 megawatts and is managed by the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD), which serves as both the plant operator and majority owner. The facility is part of the Balancing Authority of Northern California, ensuring efficient management of electricity supply and demand in the region.
