Hazle Spindle is a mechanical storage energy facility located in Hazle Township, Pennsylvania, within the ReliabilityFirst Corporation NERC region. The plant operates with a capacity of 20 megawatts and is integrated into the PJM Interconnection power control area. Convergent Energy and Power serves as the plant operator and majority owner, with Energy Capital Partners as the owner holding company. As an unregulated facility, Hazle Spindle utilizes energy storage technology to contribute to the region’s energy supply and enhance grid reliability.
