Glacier Battery Storage is a state-of-the-art energy storage facility located in Deming, Washington, operating under the jurisdiction of the Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC). The plant utilizes advanced battery technology with an operating capacity of 2 MW, contributing to the power control area managed by Puget Sound Energy. As an unregulated facility, Glacier Battery Storage is strategically positioned to enhance energy reliability and support grid stability in the region. The plant is primarily owned by OMERS Administration Corporation, which oversees its operations in collaboration with Puget Sound Energy. Additional ownership interests are held by British Columbia Investment Management Corporation, Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board, Macquarie Infrastructure Partners, Alberta Investment Management Corporation, and PGGM Vermogensbeheer BV.
