GFTX BESS is a state-of-the-art battery energy storage system located in Austin, Texas, within the Texas Reliability Entity (NERC Region). With an operating capacity of 131.05 MW, this facility plays a crucial role in enhancing grid reliability and supporting the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) power control area. The plant is operated by Giga Texas Energy, a subsidiary of Tesla, which holds the majority ownership. As an unregulated entity, GFTX BESS leverages advanced energy storage technology to provide flexible and efficient energy solutions, contributing to the overall sustainability and resilience of the Texas energy landscape.
