Flaming Gorge is a hydraulic turbine power generation facility located in Dutch John, Utah, within the Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) region. The plant operates with a capacity of 151.8 megawatts and is managed by the US Bureau of Reclamation, which also serves as the majority owner and holding company. The facility utilizes water as its primary fuel source, contributing to its unregulated status. Power generated at Flaming Gorge is integrated into the Public Service Company of Colorado’s power control area, supporting regional energy needs while promoting sustainable practices in hydropower generation.
