Elmore Company operates a geothermal power plant located in Calipatria, California, within the Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) region. The facility boasts an operating capacity of 49 megawatts and is part of the Imperial Irrigation District’s power control area. The plant is managed by CalEnergy Operating Corporation and is classified as unregulated. The majority ownership of the plant is held by CE Generation, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway. Other owners of the power plant include CE Generation.
