Dorchester Biomass is a biomass power plant located in Harleyville, South Carolina, within the SERC Reliability Corporation region. The facility operates with a steam turbine technology and has an operating capacity of 20 MW. It is managed by Atlantic Power Services and is unregulated in its operations. The majority ownership of the plant lies with Atlantic Power Corporation, which is part of I Squared Capital Advisors. The primary power purchaser for the energy generated at Dorchester Biomass is the South Carolina Public Service Authority.
