Desper Solar is a solar power facility located in Louisa, Virginia, within the SERC Reliability Corporation region. With an operating capacity of 88.2 MW, the plant harnesses solar energy to generate electricity. It is managed by the Virginia Electric and Power Company, which is also the majority owner, under the umbrella of Dominion Energy. The facility operates within the PJM Interconnection power control area and is regulated by state authorities. The primary power purchaser for the energy produced at Desper Solar is the Commonwealth of Virginia, emphasizing its role in supporting renewable energy initiatives in the region.
