Clarkson Solar is a solar power facility located in Potsdam, NY, within the Northeast Power Coordinating Council region. With an operating capacity of 2 MW, the plant harnesses solar energy to generate electricity. It is managed by Clarkson Solar and operates under the New York Independent System Operator’s power control area. The facility is unregulated and is primarily owned by AES Clean Energy Development Holdings, a subsidiary of The AES Corporation. The primary power purchaser for the generated electricity is Clarkson University, making this solar plant a key contributor to the university’s renewable energy initiatives.
