Cicero Energy Storage 1 is a state-of-the-art battery energy storage facility located in East Syracuse, New York. Operating under the jurisdiction of the Northeast Power Coordinating Council, this facility boasts an operating capacity of 5 MW. It is strategically positioned within the New York Independent System Operator’s power control area, enhancing grid reliability and efficiency. The plant is operated by Convergent Energy and Power, a leader in energy storage solutions. As an unregulated facility, Cicero Energy Storage 1 is majority-owned by CEP II Holdco, which also serves as the owner holding company. This facility utilizes advanced energy storage technology to contribute to the region’s energy landscape, supporting the transition to a more sustainable and resilient power system.
