Chocowinity Solar is a solar power facility located in Chocowinity, North Carolina, within the SERC Reliability Corporation region. With an operating capacity of 5 MW, the plant harnesses solar energy to generate electricity. It is operated by Oppidum Renewables USA, which is also the majority owner and holding company. The facility is unregulated and primarily sells its generated power to Duke Energy Progress, the designated power control area. Utilizing the sun as its fuel source, Chocowinity Solar contributes to the growing renewable energy landscape in the region.
