Cedar Bayou is a steam turbine power plant located in Baytown, Texas, within the ERCOT power control area. Operated by NRG Energy, the facility boasts an impressive operating capacity of 1,494 MW. As part of the Texas Reliability Entity, Cedar Bayou utilizes gas as its primary fuel source. The plant is unregulated, with NRG Texas Power serving as the majority owner under the NRG Energy holding company. The primary gas supply is sourced from the Texas Eastern Transmission pipeline.
